Everything You Need to Know About Invisalign® Clear Aligners

If you’ve dreamed of having a straight, healthy, beautiful smile but aren’t loving the idea of having a mouthful of metal brackets and wires, then Invisalign® could be the solution you’ve been looking for.

During your initial consultation, Dr. Weber will answer any questions you have about your treatment. In the meantime, we have compiled a list of some of the most commonly asked questions that patients have about Invisalign®.

If you have any questions or need to contact us before your scheduled appointment, call us at (402) 896-4500 or e-mail us using the form below.

When you come in for your first visit, Dr. Weber will take a 3D scan of your mouth. Afterward, he will create a treatment plan just for you that maps out the movements of each individual tooth. Using that information, a series of custom fitted Invisalign® clear aligners will be created. As you wear your aligners, your teeth gradually move into proper alignment, giving you a healthy smile.

Invisalign® clear aligners are made of a patented material called SmartTrack®. This FDA-approved thermoplastic material is soft, flexible, and doesn’t contain any BPAs, BPS’, latex, or gluten. Invisalign clear aligners are comfortable to wear and practically invisible.

The average cost of Invisalign® clear aligners is between $3,000 and $7,000. The cost for your specific treatment will depend upon a number of factors, including the complexity and severity of your case. Dr. Weber will talk to you about costs and payment options during your initial visit.

The average length of treatment time for Invisalign® is between 12 and 18 months. Dr. Weber will determine exactly how long your treatment will take based upon your unique needs and orthodontic issues.

Since Invisalign® works by applying gentle, constant force to your teeth to move them into alignment, there may be some discomfort during the first few days of wearing a new set of aligners. Most patients describe it as a feeling of “pressure” rather than actual pain. It is completely normal and should subside after a few days.

Cleaning your Invisalign® clear aligners is easy. After removing them, you can clean them using the Invisalign Cleaning System (available through our office) or with a toothbrush and toothpaste under warm water. You should never clean your aligners using hot water as it could warp the material.
